Description
2ID Combat Patch Military
There is by all accounts a slight misconception. Even though the 2nd Infantry Division is prepared for combat, it does not have a specific “combat patch” like Rangers or Special Forces do. We also have 2ID Color Patch Velcro
The 2nd Infantry Division Patch
The standard patch for the 2nd Infantry Division is the well-known Indianhead patch. It symbolizes the division’s strength, history, and commitment to its mission. This patch must be worn by all division soldiers, regardless of their specific combat role.
Unit-Specific Patches
There are several subordinate units within the 2nd Infantry Division, each with its own patch. These unit patches frequently feature the Indianhead, the division’s insignia, as the central element, but they also include specific details to identify the particular unit. In the 2ID, for instance, a brigade combat team might have its own patch made of the Indianhead and other elements that represented the brigade’s role and mission.
Combat Roles and Patches
While the 2nd Infantry Division does not have a formal “combat patch,” soldiers assigned to combat missions may choose to wear additional patches or insignia to indicate their unique assignments or qualifications. These might consist of:
Awarded to soldiers who successfully complete either the Infantry Advanced Individual Training or the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course is the Infantry Combat Badge.
Soldiers who served in an infantry unit and engaged in direct battle with an enemy are granted the battle Infantry Badge.
Soldiers that have successfully completed Airborne training are entitled to wear the Airborne Badge.
