Description
Army Patch Lightning Bolt
The symbol is applied to many forms of ID badges, but wearing numerous patches with bolts indicates a member of a fast reaction force, airborne, or EW unit. These patches represent velocity, flexibility, and dynamism of those units. We also have Army Patch with Diagonal Stripes
There are a number of examples to that in the US army, one of the most well known cases being the 25th Infantry
Division (Tropic Lightning). Their logo is a bard on a grom that symbolises a lightning bolt on a red background that tells about their readiness to respond and geographically oriented tropical region.
Another case in point is the 11th Armored Division known as Thunderbolt Division . That symbol on their patch is a lightning bolt to signify their fast and deadly attack.
In addition to these examples, virtually any other known military branch, not only special operations forces, incorporate the lightning bolts insignia on their patches. Such organizational units usually function intensively so decisions have to be made promptly as well as actions implemented. The lightning bolt, as a meaning of fast and powerful squad, is appropriate for these forces.
As such, the use of lightning bolt motifs on the patches brings to these units, their identity, mission and capacities. These patches are a constant sign of the speed, the agility as well as the striking force of these preeminent military forces.
