Prepare the Uniform For Unique Look
Check for cleanliness along with smooth appearance before using the uniform. It is advisable to wash a recently purchased uniform before applying any patches. The better adherence of the patch will become possible when you follow this preparation step and it also prevents future shrinking. We also haveDetroit Tigers Patch
Heat the Iron
Set your iron at a temperature level between low and high heat. Most Cub Scout uniforms mission patches made from polyester/cotton blend material will require medium heat for proper application. The irons steam function must be disabled while also verifying there is no moisture present in the device. The required heat for this operation must be dry.
Position the Patch
Place the patch precisely on the uniform spot where you wish for it to be located. Consult your handbook or leader because Cub Scout uniform patch placement standards can be found by referring to their guidelines.
Cover with Cloth
A small piece of clean cotton t-shirt or handkerchief should act as the covering material during the heating process. A cloth covering will
shield the uniform and prevent heat damage along with protecting the patch from smoking.
Apply Heat
Position the iron firmly for 10-15 seconds directly to the cloth-covered section. Implement uniform pressure while guiding the iron at slow circular movements across all the patch areas during heating.
Check and Reapply
Raise the cloth layer to examine the secure attachment of the patch. Reheat the edges that remain loose for another few seconds before checking again.
Cool Down
Let the patch achieve full room temperature before you continue to handle the uniform. The correct adhesive adhesion will occur when the patch has completely cooled down.
Additional Tips
Application of excessive heat has the potential to harm both the mission patches adhesive patch and any fabric components of the uniform. Heat the patch by using a thin cloth that protects both the patch and uniform. For durable and resilient patch attachment you should apply sewing stitches to the edges of the cooled patch area specifically when dealing with high-wear spots.
