Army Vietnam Patches
Vietnam war period was marked by appearance of a great amount of individual distinctive patches used by US Army servicemen. These patches were used to mark units, division, as well as special operations groups. They usually contained references pertaining to history, purpose, or location characteristic of the unit. Some of the most recognizable Vietnam War era Army patches include: 
1st Cavalry Division Patch: This patch is called the “First Team” and it has a black horse head on yellow background. Originally forming part of the United States Army and deployed to Vietnam, the 1st Cavalry Division fought in the war.
101st Airborne Division Patch: Screaming Eagles as it is called, this division symbol is a white eagle with spread wings on a red backdrop. The 101st Airborne was an airmobile division and was heavily involved in many of the conflicts of the war.
173rd Airborne Brigade Patch: This patch entitled “Sky Soldiers” has the red devil’s head on yellow backing. , the 173rd airborne Brigade was the first to arrive in South Vietnam from the United States and took part in numerous battle actions.
Special Forces Patch: The Special Forces insignia or the ‘Green Beret,’ has a golden eagle holding a lightning on a blue background. Special Force was a trained and skilled force which had a significant place in Vietnam War.
